Thambi's First Supper Club

Thambi's launched their first supper club on the 20th of July. We chose the lovely Travel Café at Waterloo and ended up with a full house! For those who missed out, here is a snapshot of the menu that we served:

AMUSE BOUCHE

Rasam Shots or Shooters

A fiery pepper soup mixed with herbs - 3 types
Pineapple
Pepper
Tomato
all served with a cocktail sized fried rice dough ball


STARTER

Stuffed idlis

Steamed rice cakes stuffed with a spicy chicken masala and for the vegetarians
stuffed with a mixed vegetable masala all
served with 2 types of chutneys
Green chilli coconut chutney
Red chilli peanut chutney


MAINS

Mutton Biryani

Succulent pieces of goat (boneless) sauteed in tomatoes and spices

Tri - Flavour Rice (Vegetarian)

3 types of rice - coconut, tamarind,lemon


SIDES

Roasted Potatoes

Potatoes (skin on) roasted with turmeric

Carrot Pickle

Finely chopped carrot cooked with red chillies and spices tempered with mustard seeds

Cooling Raita

Shredded cucumber mixed with plain yoghurt and tempered with mustard seeds and astafotedia


SWEET FINISH

Rice Vermicelli Popsicles

Rice vermicelli cooked in milk and vanilla to form a pudding and frozen into popsicle

Apple Relish

Shredded apples cooked in clarified butter with roasted almond slivers and sugar


BEVERAGES

Mix of non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages

One beer / glass of wine included with the meal
